`Franklin Covey Company Covers All the Bases' Franklin Quest Field Gets a New Name

SALT LAKE CITY, July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Franklin Covey will already have
its "bases" covered when the Salt Lake Buzz baseball team returns home from an
eight game roadtrip to a new stadium... at least a newly named one! Work is
to be done today to officially change the name of the ballpark at 1300 South
and West Temple from "Franklin Quest Field" to "Franklin Covey Field." Young
Electric Sign Company will complete the name change on the stadium facade on
the west and north sides and will begin work on the sign at the main entrance
into the stadium. Work should be completed by today.
"The name change puts the finishing touches on the merger of Franklin
Quest and Covey Leadership Center. This signifies that the merger is complete
-- Franklin Covey is the new company," said Hyrum Smith, chairman of Franklin
Covey.
The two Utah-based companies merged in June of 1997 to create Franklin
Covey, a world leader in time management and leadership development. Franklin
Quest paid for the naming rights to the ballpark in July 1993. "By changing
the name to Franklin Covey Field, we are better able to communicate the
Franklin Covey brand in our hometown with our seven local retail outlets,"
says Smith.
"The Salt Lake Buzz appreciates the support we have received from Franklin
Covey. Franklin Covey Field is the finest stadium in the country for AAA
baseball and makes a valuable contribution to our community," said Joe Buzas,
owner of the Salt Lake Buzz baseball team.
"We are honored to have our name associated with a quality organization
like the Salt Lake Buzz. Baseball is the great American past-time and the
epitome of teamwork. The Buzz and Salt Lake City have been very cooperative
-- this has been a great team effort," said Stephen R. Covey, co-chairman of
Franklin Covey.
The Salt Lake Buzz will play eight games at Franklin Covey Field beginning
July 21 and will host the Las Vegas Stars and the Albuquerque Dukes. Tickets
are still available for the game on July 24, which will be followed by a
Pioneer Day fireworks show.
