LEXINGTON, Mass., July 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Certain press reports
today stated that the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating
accounting practices by Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN).
Raytheon is unaware of any such investigation. The company has been
advised by the SEC staff that the investigation commenced by the SEC into the
engineering and construction business on May 2, 2001, which was previously
disclosed by Raytheon, has been closed without action.
