SSSI Receives Support Contract for Navy Fixed Wing Training Aircraft

STRATFORD, CT UNITED STATES
    FARNBOROUGH, England, July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL
AIR SHOW -- Sikorsky Support Services, Inc. (SSSI), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. has been awarded a contract to
provide support services and maintenance for 382 U.S. Navy fixed wing
training aircraft. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies
Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

    The contract includes a three-month base period for an estimated $22
million, commencing July 1, 2006, plus four one-year options. The program
will employ approximately 700 people and could be valued at more than $400
million through the life of the program if all options are exercised.
    Under the contract, SSSI will provide program management, maintenance
and repair, material management and engineering support for Chief of Naval
Air Training undergraduate missions to include: 100 T-34C Turbomentor and
54 T-44A Pegasus aircraft at Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi, Texas;
154 T-34C aircraft at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, Fla.; and 46 T-6A Texan II
aircraft at NAS Pensacola, Fla. Additionally, SSSI will support 27 T-34C
and one T-6A aircraft at nine satellite facilities. The program will be
managed from the SSSI program support office in Pensacola, Fla.
