LONDON, FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW, July 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pratt &
Whitney WSK PZL-Rzeszow, in Poland, now has the capability to assemble and
test F100-PW-229 engines. The engines will be installed in the Polish Air
Force's new fleet of 48 F-16 fighter aircraft. Pratt & Whitney is a unit of
United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Pratt & Whitney President Stephen Finger hosted an inauguration
ceremony recently at the Rzeszow facility attended by Polish national and
local government leaders, U.S. government representatives, Pratt & Whitney
and Lockheed Martin representatives, and WSK PZL-Rzeszow employees who have
contributed to the development and implementation of this new capability.
Finger, Marek Darecki, general manager of WSK PZL-Rzeszow, and
representatives from Polish Ministry of National Defense installed a
ceremonial last bolt on the first F100 engine assembled at the facility.
This significant investment demonstrates Pratt & Whitney's commitment to
advancing the tooling, training and facility modernization of its WSK
PZL-Rzeszow location, and underscores the company's growing relationship
with Poland. Pratt & Whitney has been present in Poland for more than 30
years and is one of the larger foreign investors in the Polish aviation
industry.

Strike Fighter; F119 powering the F-22 Raptor; F117 for the C-17
