Covisint Provides Independent Physician Association With High Value, Low
Risk Means to Access Applications and Collaborate With Member Physicians
DETROIT, July 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Compuware Corporation
(Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced that Olympia Medical Services has purchased
a Physician Collaboration Center from Compuware Covisint. The collaborative
solution provides a high value, low risk and low maintenance method for
physicians to securely collaborate and access a full suite of physician
practice applications and patient information in a Web 2.0 environment.
Olympia Medical Services is an independent physician association of
doctors practicing in Southeast Michigan. With Covisint, it now has
enhanced the capacity of its member physicians to share ideas and
information between Olympia's administrative staff, physicians, practice
managers and their staffs. Leveraging the integrated features within the
physician collaboration center -- such as secure file exchange and
messaging -- enables Olympia and its members to securely exchange essential
documents and files with other members of its community.
"Serving our growing stakeholders well is vital to our mission and
purpose, and this is best achieved with the kind of advanced technology
Covisint provides," said Randy Bickle, DO, JD, CPE and President of Olympia
Medical Services. "Covisint enables access and collaboration anywhere,
anytime with an outstanding record of success. Just as important, we were
up and running almost immediately."
With Covisint's hosted solution, Olympia will be able to collaborate
with all of its members regardless of their technical sophistication, size
or infrastructure. Even though the majority of healthcare information is
still paper-based, Covisint provides a way to electronically manage and
track all major forms of data and communications, including those that are
paper-based. Olympia will leverage the Covisint solution for its billing,
administration management, lab order and results management, as well as for
referrals.
"Physicians realize that this kind of innovative technology can improve
their practice efficiency and quality of care," said Bob Paul, President
and COO of Compuware Covisint. "Covisint delivers on that need, providing
an enhanced web-based environment for sharing important healthcare
information. We have a remarkable track record of saving time and money
while being unobtrusive to a physician's daily responsibilities. Our goal
is to do everything possible to assist physicians in information retrieval
and distribution, thereby facilitating the improvement of care delivery."
Covisint connects more than 15,000 healthcare users representing more
than 500 healthcare organizations with its hosted healthcare solution.
Covisint enables the secure access to and the improved visibility of health
information. Leading healthcare organizations and communities across the
healthcare continuum leverage Covisint technology to exchange information
and support real-time collaboration, including the automation and
streamlining of basic clinical and administrative processed that are
generally paper-based transactions today.
