LOS ANGELES, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- marchFIRST, Inc. (Nasdaq: MRCH), a
leading global professional services company, today named John Grotting the
new Executive Creative Director for the Company's Southwest Region. Grotting,
who joins marchFIRST from Sapient (Nasdaq: SAPE), where he served as Vice
President, Executive Creative Director, will be responsible for strategic
direction, practice leadership and helping to build out the Company's
broadband offering. He will be based out of marchFIRST's Santa Monica, Calif.
office.
"Attracting an experienced, proven talent like John is further
demonstration of marchFIRST's brand-building leadership," said Russ Nash,
marchFIRST Southwest Group Executive Partner. "John brings tremendous breadth
and depth in all aspects of online creative work that will integrate perfectly
with our region's existing capabilities. He will also help further develop
marchFIRST's expertise in broadband, wireless and higher-end creative work.
His industry experience will be leveraged across our existing client base and
throughout the company."
Grotting's move was inspired by both the commitment from marchFIRST
leadership and by the opportunity. "As I interviewed, I realized that the
marchFIRST leadership team, with Bob Bernard (marchFIRST Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer) at the helm, truly appreciates what it takes to build a
global organization. Few companies in our space understand how to promote
innovation and quality within the diverse disciplines that are required to do
this kind of work. I was impressed by the commitment to building an
environment that fosters strategic and original brand and creative work."
Adding Grotting's expertise in design and research comes at an exciting
time for the Southwest Region, said Nash. The region is leading the Company's
broadband development because much of its work is with the entertainment
industry.
Grotting has more than 15 years of agency and design experience, working
with such notable clients as IBM, Kodak, Apple, Mercedes-Benz and Nike. While
with Sapient and Studio Archetype (acquired by Sapient in late 1998), he led
several complex projects including live coverage on IBM's Web site of the
"Kasparov vs. Deep Blue" rematch. Grotting also served on Sapient's Research
and Development Team and was integral in building several of the company's
East Coast offices.
Prior to joining Sapient, Grotting co-founded cow, a Santa Monica-based
interactive communications firm which attracted such clients as Mercedes-Benz,
Motorola, Wells Fargo and Nike. He also has worked for DDB Needham in Finland
and as a consultant for medical systems and consumer software companies.
