PITTSBURGH, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- PENNDOT will distribute its own brand
of bottled water at the 20th annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) July
20 and 21 at Schenley Park. PENNDOT H2O, along with auto safety displays and
information about the Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel construction project will be
available at the PENNDOT tent Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is a highly attended event that
provides a great opportunity to celebrate the reopening of the Fort Pitt
Bridge and Tunnel by distributing information to the driving public and
introducing PENNDOT H2O," said PENNDOT spokesman Dick Skrinjar. "PENNDOT H2O
is the only beverage approved by PENNDOT for drinking before and after
driving."
The PVGP is the only vintage car race in the nation that is held
exclusively on city streets, a twisting 2.33-mile course through Schenley
Park. The PENNDOT tent, located across from the Schenley Park Golf Course
Clubhouse, overlooks the racecourse.
This year, the outbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel are
expected to re-open to traffic no later than August 31. Next year, beginning
March 31, the inbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel will be closed
through August 31, 2003.
