Newell Rubbermaid Forms Technology Global Business Unit

Recent acquisition of internet postage provider adds to existing office
technology solutions, strengthening company's global leadership position in
                              office products

    ATLANTA, July 18, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newell Rubbermaid Inc.
(NYSE: NWL) today said that it has organized its technology solutions
businesses into a Global Business Unit to capitalize on anticipated growth
opportunities in small office/home office markets. This comes following the
recent completion of the acquisition of PSI Systems, Inc., providers of
Endicia(R) Internet Postage. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
"The acquisition of Endicia is an important step in the evolution of
Newell Rubbermaid. This transaction helps us leverage our other technology
brands including DYMO(R), CardScan(R), Mimio(R) and Pelouze(R) to create a
Technology Global Business Unit within our Office Products group," said
Mark Ketchum, President and CEO of Newell Rubbermaid. "Endicia is an
intriguing addition to our existing technology portfolio, strengthening an
emerging growth platform."
Many of the more than 25 million small office/home office (SOHO) and
medium sized businesses in the U.S. rely on technology to help them lower
costs and compete against larger organizations. A study by International
Data Corporation found that small businesses and home offices account for
40 percent of all technology investment in the U.S. Market research
suggests small business offices in fields such as real estate, health care,
insurance and accounting could save time and money with an integrated
shipping and mailing solution.
Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, PSI Systems, through its
Endicia Internet Postage service, is a leading supplier of Internet mailing
and shipping solutions used by small offices and home offices. With Endicia
products and services, users can print postage from their computers, track
packages and create Customized PC Postage(TM). PSI Systems is the Internet
postage partner of Newell Rubbermaid's DYMO Stamps (http://www.dymostamps.com),
which launched in May of 2006.
Steve Marton, Newell Rubbermaid's Group President -- Office Products,
added, "We continue to develop solutions to meet the changing needs of our
consumers. The acquisition of Endicia is an important piece of our strategy
of offering small and medium-sized businesses a full range of shipping and
mailing solutions."
Through proprietary technology developed in-house, Endicia processes
the most postage out of all United States Postal Service-approved PC
Postage(TM) services. Endicia Internet Postage provides users with a full
range of convenient and cost-effective shipping and mailing services,
allowing them to print USPS approved postage at home or in the office. DYMO
Stamps, powered by Endicia, is a service that interfaces with a DYMO
LabelWriter(R) to print postage on-demand. Since the introduction of DYMO
Stamps in April 2006, consumers have printed more than six million stamps
through this system.
"The Endicia team is excited about joining Newell Rubbermaid, a leader
in the office products industry. Our products and services strongly
complement their existing mailing and shipping solutions for small, medium
and home-based businesses," said Harry Whitehouse, founder of PSI Systems.
Newell Rubbermaid's Office Products group is recognized around the
world for innovative products that help businesses and consumers
communicate, organize and manage their time. The Technology Global Business
Unit integrates key parts of the company's technology products and
services, including DYMO home, office and industrial label printers
(http://www.dymo.com), CardScan business card scanners and contact management
software (http://www.cardscan.com), Pelouze industrial and package/postal scales
(http://www.pelouze.com), Mimio (http://www.mimio.com) interactive whiteboard and digital
ink recorders and now Endicia Internet Postage (http://www.endicia.com and
