Hamilton Sundstrand Joins Boeing Team on 787 GoldCare Service

    FARNBOROUGH, England, July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hamilton
Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX),
announced today an agreement with the Boeing Company on the Boeing 787
Dreamliner. Under Boeing's GoldCare program, Hamilton Sundstrand will
support its equipment with parts availability and maintenance service for
787 operators.
    GoldCare is Boeing's comprehensive life-cycle management service
specially developed for the 787, offering a new strategic business choice
for customers to acquire, operate and transition their fleets.
    The program provides integrated asset, logistics and repair management.
It will enable 787 operators to lower maintenance costs and reduce capital
investment while increasing aircraft availability. Hamilton Sundstrand will
support the GoldCare program through its global network of repair,
distribution and field service centers.

service. "We believe Hamilton Sundstrand is uniquely positioned to provide
high quality technical, spare parts and repair support for Hamilton
Sundstrand equipment."
    Hamilton Sundstrand was chosen by Boeing to provide the 787's
environmental control system, electric power generation and start system,
remote power distribution system, auxiliary power unit, primary power
distribution system and high-voltage DC equipment racks, emergency power
system, nitrogen generation system and electric pump subsystem.
    In addition, Rolls-Royce chose Hamilton Sundstrand to supply the
gearbox system for its Trent 1000 engine being developed for the Boeing
787. And Kidde Aerospace, which recently joined Hamilton Sundstrand, is
supplying Boeing with the complete Fire Protection Systems package for the
787. The 787 program is expected to generate more than $8 billion in
revenue for Hamilton Sundstrand over the life of the program.
