Of NewTek's Demos and Customer Interviews From the Show
SAN ANTONIO, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- NewTek Incorporated, manufacturer of
industry-leading 3D animation and video products, today announced that it will
be showcasing its own Webcast technologies at its booth (#2117) at SIGGRAPH
2000, with live streaming media that will enable users worldwide to watch live
streaming media from the booth. The NewTek show will be aired at
http://www.newtek.com , with broadcast times set to coincide with SIGGRAPH
2000 show floor times.
SIGGRAPH 2000 will be held July 23 through July 27 in New Orleans.
"NewTek will essentially produce and broadcast a live TV show from our
SIGGRAPH booth, using 100% NewTek products running on IBM computers," said
Brad Peebler, vice president of 3D graphics of NewTek. "We will be showing
the best-looking, least expensive streaming video solution on the planet.
Besides showcasing our Webcast technologies in a particularly vibrant way, we
will also be turning SIGGRAPH 2000 into a global event for NewTek users
worldwide."
Rex Olsen of DeskTop Images will produce the "TV show" on the floor of
SIGGRAPH to demonstrate NewTek products via the latest Webcasting
technologies. NewTek has been working in conjunction with IBM to provide cost
effective, easy-to-use solutions for average people to create and Webcast
their own productions.
"NewTek and IBM share the belief that the Internet will fundamentally
change the way the world receives 'television' content," said Peebler. "By
leveraging our respective technologies to not only Webcast video content, but
also produce the content on the show floor, we are demonstrating unequivocally
that this technology is available now."
Viewers of the NewTek Webcast will be able to "sit in" on demonstrations
and interviews as they take place in the company's booth. Specifically,
viewers will be able to experience the following:
-- live streaming versions of the main-station trade show demonstrations
