ATLANTA, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Preferred Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFNT)
(PNI), a leading outsourcing services provider to the wireless industry,
announced that its Network Services Division has passed the half-million units
in service mark as of June 30, 1998.
Gary Park, President of PNI's Network Services Division, said that this
achievement "underscores PNI's position as a leader in providing outsourcing
services to the wireless industry. Because we do not compete with our
customers for subscribers, we are strategically positioned to provide network
solutions to a broad-range of wireless industry organizations."
PNI's Network Services Division provides one-way paging network access to
more than 1,500 companies (including ten of the twenty largest paging
companies), which in turn market branded paging services to their customers
while incurring associated costs only on an as-needed basis. PNI's Network
Services Division currently owns and operates paging networks in five regions
in the United States, including the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast,
Midwest and North Central regions. PNI's unique engineering support enables
paging carriers to directly connect their own terminal switching equipment
with PNI's networks ("colocation" and "interconnection" services) in order to
purchase network services from the company.
PNI, headquartered in metropolitan Atlanta, also provides one-way and
two-way wireless network equipment installation, maintenance and engineering
services through Preferred Technical Services, Inc., and national paging and
cellular product repair services, sales of new, used, and refurbished paging
and cellular products and inventory management services through EPS Wireless,
Inc., both wholly-owned subsidiaries. PNI's address on the World Wide Web is
