WESTPORT, Conn., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- IMS HEALTH (NYSE: RX) today
announced the appointment of J. Michal Conaway as chief financial officer,
with responsibility for the company's global financial strategy, planning and
reporting activities. He will report to Victoria R. Fash, IMS HEALTH's
president and chief operating officer, and will be based in London.
"As CFO for a $14-billion-dollar multinational company, Michal gained
extensive experience in global finance and strategic planning that will be
invaluable as IMS HEALTH pursues its growth strategy," said Ms. Fash. "His
international focus and expertise in mergers and acquisitions will provide
strong support as we build our worldwide operations."
Conaway, 49, directed the financial function at Fluor Corporation for the
past five years, most recently as senior vice president & chief financial
officer. During his tenure at Fluor, Conaway played an integral role in the
acquisition and integration of several international companies.
From 1988 to 1992, Conaway was vice president & chief financial officer
and a director of National Gypsum Company, where he led a significant and
successful financial restructuring of the company.
For the previous 14 years, Conaway held progressively responsible
management positions with Texas Eastern Corporation. He joined the company in
1974, rising to become senior vice president and chief financial officer from
1985 to 1987.
Conaway completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard
University's Graduate School of Business, holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine
University, and received a B. S. degree in accounting from Abilene Christian
University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
