New Channel Program Will Enable Partners to Provide a Complete Portfolio
Of Products and Services for Customers Participating in the Net Economy
MOUNTAIN VIEW and PALO ALTO, Calif., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The
Sun-Netscape Alliance (Alliance) today announced that in its first 100 days of
operation it has developed a market-leading channel program that is providing
its partners with all the necessary tools and services needed to deliver
value-added e-commerce solutions to their customers competing in the Net
Economy.
An integral part of the Alliance's strategy for making the new program a
success is to partner with the industry's strongest channel players who have
expertise in key geographies and vertical markets including finance,
manufacturing and telecommunications. The Alliance currently has signed up
more than 80 leading distributors, systems integrators and value-added
resellers to deliver its e-commerce applications, Internet infrastructure
solutions and support services.
"In its first 100 days the Alliance has reached an important milestone in
terms of implementing a dynamic channel strategy to successfully deliver
end-to-end e-commerce solutions for the Net Economy," said Mark Tolliver,
president and general manager of the Sun-Netscape Alliance. "We are proud to
be rolling out a comprehensive channel program with the support of the leading
industry players to begin delivering on commitments in record time."
Sierra Systems Group, a North American-based systems integrator with
offices throughout the U.S and Canada, is working with the Alliance to help
customers leverage Alliance e-commerce applications and Internet software to
implement an integrated communications and commerce solution.
"The formula for successfully competing in today's Net Economy includes a
broad set of products and services and a worldwide community of experts to
assist customers building and growing innovative Web businesses," said
Bill McGraw, vice president of the eCommerce Practice for Sierra Systems
Consultants. "With today's announcement, Sierra Systems is reaffirming its
commitment to working with the Alliance solutions to make significant advances
in e-commerce practices."
The Alliance channel program provides partners with the marketing
programs, training, professional services and sales tools and support to
enable them to market and deliver tailored solutions that fit their customers'
individual business needs and environments.
Alliance channel program partners must meet high standards to participate
in the program. Product and industry experience, training and the number of
sales representatives and systems engineers are key criteria. Qualified
partners also must go through a certification process.
As a result of the program, customers will be able to go to authorized
Sun-Netscape Alliance partners including Access Graphics, AnswerThink,
Consulting Group, BrightStar Information Technology Group, Burnt Sand
Solutions, Ingram Micro, iXL Inc., Merisel, Net Explorer, S://Scape
Communications, Inc., Sierra Systems, Tactics and Watco Web Waves.
