CONCORD, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 30, the Concord The good
guys! (Nasdaq: GGUY) will celebrate a grand re-opening as the second
AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION in the Bay Area. Concord is the latest store to be
converted to the AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION concept -- the hottest in consumer
electronics retailing.
"With the new AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION format, the Concord store will be the
largest The good guys! at more than 38,000 sq. ft. It is sure to be the
premiere shopping place for consumer electronics in Alameda and Contra Costa
counties," said Robert Gunst, President and Chief Executive Officer.
AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION is designed to be "user-friendly" to customers.
Within the non-traditional environment of the store are four "EXPO" rooms
customized to provide shoppers with an introduction to new technologies,
applications and products in home-like, interactive settings. The four rooms
are: ultra media center, family media center, work@home.com and multi-room
systems.
The central service area of the AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION store is an open
room of chairs and coffee tables. It's here that broadly-trained sales
specialists help customers draw up personalized blueprints of home
entertainment systems. The store will also feature wide-open spaces, a soft
color palette, pale hardwood floors and clear, easy-to-read signage.
The new Concord The good guys! store, located a few doors down from the
old store at 1280 Willow Pass Road, has remained open during construction but
will close for one day, July 29, before its grand re-opening celebration.
Opened in 1979, the Concord store is one of the original The good guys!
stores.
