Jeff Miller Named President and CEO of ICTV

LOS GATOS, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- ICTV, the creator of
HeadendWare(R), the broadband industry's most powerful platform for the
delivery and distribution of compelling interactive television content,
announced today the appointment of Jeff Miller to the position of President
and Chief Executive Officer.
Miller, who joined ICTV in 2000 as senior vice president of engineering,
has led the development team responsible for the HeadendWare platform, and has
been actively involved in ICTV's product management, sales and marketing
activities. He replaces Mike McGrail, who successfully met the key corporate
objectives of bringing HeadendWare to cable and broadband deployment in
domestic and international markets.
"We're grateful to Mike for his role in helping the company achieve the
goals we mutually established, and we wish him well," said Gary Lauder,
founding investor and Chairman of ICTV. "As HeadendWare continues toward
broader deployment, we anticipate that the same credible approach and
leadership skills that Jeff Miller brought to its development over the past
five years will help ICTV, its partners and its customers realize the full
potential of the platform to generate new forms of revenue."
"ICTV today has a growing customer base that is a direct result of its
strong content partner portfolio and industry leading technology," said
Miller. "As network operators and programmers look to differentiate
themselves in an increasingly cluttered media environment, the ability to
offer a broader range of interactive and personalized services across the
entire base of deployed set-tops and viewing devices will be critical. ICTV
offers the highest flexibility among interactive television solutions,
enabling compelling content from games to rich VOD menus to be supported by
innovative business models on a single platform without new in-home equipment
or complicated set-top applications."
During his five years with ICTV, Miller served as chief system architect
for multiple releases of HeadendWare, and supervised a team of 50 engineers in
Los Gatos, CA and Baltimore, MD. In addition, he has worked closely with key
customers in the trial and deployment of the HeadendWare platform.
From 1991-96, Miller served as president of RISQ Modular Systems, a
Newark, CA creator of custom embedded computing platforms that he co-founded
and grew successfully. Miller negotiated the acquisition of RISQ by SMART
Modular Technologies in 1996, and served as vice president of engineering for
SMART until 1999, when he joined Force Computers as vice president, consulting
engineering and applications.
Miller holds a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the
University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master's degree in systems
management from the University of Southern California.
