HONOLULU, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- All Nippon Airways (ANA) has chosen AMR
Services to provide aircraft cabin cleaning services at Honolulu International
Airport. The contract is effective April 1 and is AMR Services' first ramp
handling venture in Honolulu.
"I am really excited that a quality carrier like ANA has awarded AMR
Services the opportunity to perform its cabin services, and I look forward to
expanding our relationship," said Keith Kawai, Honolulu general manager for
AMR Services. "This is AMR Services' first ramp handling contract in Honolulu
and we look forward to expanding our customer base here to serve other top
passenger and cargo airlines."
ANA currently operates two daily Boeing 747 flights between Japan and
Honolulu, with one daily round trip each to Nagoya and Tokyo Narita. AMR
Services plans to hire up to 20 ramp clerks, plus a manager and a supervisor
for its new Honolulu operation. AMR Services also provides baggage services
for ANA at Los Angeles International Airport.
AMR Services is the world leader in comprehensive, top-quality aviation
services. It provides a full range of cargo, passenger and ramp handling
services, as well as maintenance, fueling and management services on behalf of
200 airlines and airport authorities at more than 60 key locations world wide.
Late last year, it was announced that AMR Services would be acquired by Castle
Harlan, with the transaction completion expected in the first quarter of 1999.
The acquisition will have no material impact on existing contracts and the
company will continue to operate as an independent aviation services provider.
