DFW AIRPORT, Texas, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Japan Airlines (JAL) has
awarded AMR Services a two-year contract to perform passenger and ramp
services at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), when the airline
begins new DFW-Tokyo service on March 15.
"We are excited to have JAL as our partner at both Las Vegas and
Dallas/Fort Worth international airports, and we look forward to expanding our
relationship in the future," said Terry Porter, assistant vice president for
AMR Services.
AMR Services will employ about 46 people to provide full passenger and
ramp handling services for JAL's Boeing 747-400s at DFW. AMR Services at DFW
also provides passenger, ramp, maintenance, shuttle and cargo handling
services for 12 other carriers, including British Airways, China Airlines,
Korean and Lufthansa. AMR Services gained its first handling agreement with
JAL last year, providing the airline with passenger, ramp and cargo services
at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nev.
AMR Services is the world leader in comprehensive, top-quality aviation
services. It provides a full range of cargo, passenger and ramp handling
services, as well as maintenance, fueling and management services on behalf of
200 airlines and airport authorities at more than 60 key locations world wide.
Late last year, it was announced that AMR Services would be acquired by Castle
Harlan, with the transaction completion expected in the first quarter of 1999.
The acquisition will have no material impact on existing contracts and the
company will continue to operate as an independent aviation services provider.
