FiLMBOX(R) v.2.7 to Include Support for Real-Time 3D Web Authoring
MONTREAL, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaydara Inc. today announced from
SIGGRAPH 2000 that support for Macromedia Flash will be included in FiLMBOX(R)
v2.7, a forthcoming version of its award-winning FiLMBOX product. Using the
new Flash tools, animators will be able to use FiLMBOX as a hub for real-time
3D authoring, re-targeting their real-time character animation and motion
capture sequences for Web broadcast. Support for the Flash format is a key
milestone in Kaydara's strategy to provide solutions for real-time
3D character content and is the first step in the company's plan to provide
Web-level authoring tools.
Specifically oriented for quick and efficient character delivery on the
Web, the new exporter allows animators to use libraries of characters and
motion capture to produce high-quality Web-based content. The tool also
provides a pathway from existing high-end 3D packages to the Flash format.

FiLMBOX v2.7 also provides a variety of next-generation character animation
tools, such as real-time character animation triggering, smart character
mapping, nonlinear motion blending and re-targeting, supporting an extensive
suite of motion capture and traditional animation controls. FiLMBOX is also a
full 3D authoring system providing all the major elements of a production
-- 3D, video, audio, images and camera data -- to be composited and edited in
real time.
Pricing and Availability
Available on both the Microsoft Windows NT (Intel), Red Hat Linux and
Silicon Graphics IRIX operating systems, FiLMBOX v2.7 will be available to
customers in early November 2000 through resellers worldwide, with pricing
starting at USD $4,995.
