Visuals: Demonstrations highlight a graphical world gone wireless
-- several breakthrough products enable individuals to review
and interact with graphical data via immersive environments
and wireless connections based on Java3D technology.
Demonstrations include the following.
-- eBay: Witness Internet auctions live in the Sun SIGGRAPH
booth as eBay showcases its technology and
offerings.
-- Brigham and Women's Hospital: Participate in a surgical
planning session as a doctor interacting with a patient's
anatomical models and CT or MRI scans to aid in complex
diagnosis and surgery.
-- Improv Technologies, Inc.: Edit a web document remotely,
yet in real time on the show floor via a
hand-held devise.
-- Infobyte: Nefertari Light of Egypt - Take a virtual tour of
the ancient tomb of Egyptian queen Nefertari, using Java 3D.
-- WebScope Inc.: Interact with a global design team via the
first Internet solution for real-time
collaboration and communications built 100% on Sun's Java 3 and
Java3D.
-- And, from the set of the motion picture film "Flipper,"
interact with a life-size animatronic dolphin swimming in a
1,000-gallon tank in the center of Sun's booth.
