FPL FiberNet Expands Fiber-Optic Network to West Palm Beach, Boca Raton

    MIAMI, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- FPL FiberNet, LLC, a subsidiary of FPL
Group (NYSE: FPL), today announced completion of a fiber-optic project in the
West Palm Beach and Boca Raton metropolitan areas.  These metros are an
integral part of FPL FiberNet's $350 million investment in Florida's
telecommunications infrastructure.  The company now has approximately 2,400
route miles of fiber.  It operates the second-largest fiber-optic network in
the United States.
