Project to be Featured By Macromedia at SIGGRAPH 2000
NEW ORLEANS, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- SIGGRAPH 2000 -- Templar Studios, LLC
announced today that its new 3D game, MULTIBALL, will be demonstrated at
SIGGRAPH 2000. The game, which is currently in development, will be featured
at Macromedia's booth as an example of the amazing content that will be
possible due to the joint development of 3D technology from Macromedia and
Intel. MULTIBALL is being designed and produced by Templar. The
ground-breaking game will be available only on the Web and will launch when
the 3D-enhanced Shockwave Player is delivered.
MULTIBALL will allow gamers to design and pilot their own gleaming pinball
through an amazing 3D world in a struggle for domination. Zooming and soaring
through a stomach-churning maze of bumpers, magnets and ramps, gamers are on a
quest for points and power-ups. But players beware -- you're not alone!
Others are hurtling through the ether and they're after you. MULTIBALL is a
white-knuckle game of chicken, as only the fastest player will survive.
Features of MULTIBALL include: easy to learn, gripping 3D action;
multi-player for exciting competition; global high scorers; rewards and
personalized collectibles.
Intel and Macromedia have teamed up to bring pervasive 3D technology to
the Web. The combination of Intel's Internet 3D graphic technology and the
vast reach of the Macromedia Shockwave Player will enable a whole new
generation of online services for web users. This future technology will
offer a more immersive interactive entertainment experience, including the
easiest and most ubiquitous 3D playback. The Shockwave Player, with more than
137 million users, is already the standard for multimedia playback.
"Macromedia and Intel are amazed with the work Templar has delivered with
this technology preview of our 3D technology," said Diane Rogers, vice
president of product marketing for Macromedia. "The multiuser world they have
built is a great indicator that developers are eager to have a pervasive way
to deliver 3D, multiuser content, and Macromedia and Intel are looking forward
to making that vision a reality."
"We are very excited to be previewing MULTIBALL with Macromedia at
SIGGRAPH 2000," said Peter Mack, President & General Manager of Templar
Studios. "The Intel Internet 3D graphic technology simplifies our task, as
developers, to create robust, interactive 3D content for on-line gaming, and
gamers will appreciate the enhanced performance."
