Media Registration Available Online for BIO Mid-America VentureForum 2006

    WASHINGTON, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Advance media registration is now
available online for the Biotechnology Industry Organization's (BIO) Mid-
America VentureForum 2006, scheduled for September 25-27 at the
Intercontinental Hotel in Cleveland, OH.
    The BIO Mid-America VentureForum is the Midwest's largest annual event,
bringing together biotechnology and medical device companies, venture
capitalists, angel investors, and investment bankers from across the U.S.
and Canada. Now in its fourth year, the conference is co-hosted by BIO and
eight state biotechnology associations: Omeris, Colorado BioScience
Association, the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization, Indiana
Health Industry Forum, Iowa Biotechnology Association, LifeScience Alley,
Missouri Biotechnology Association, and the Wisconsin Biotechnology
Association.
    The conference will feature presentations by companies selected by an
advisory board consisting of representatives from the nation's leading
venture capital firms and workshops on timely issues such as state growth
initiatives, investing in cutting-edge technology such as stem cell
research and personalized medicine, and strategies for accelerating the
regulatory review process.
    Confirmed speakers include Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach, Acting
Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, and Ohio Governor Bob
Taft.
