Edison Schools to Webcast Investor Conference

    NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Edison Schools Inc. (Nasdaq: EDSN) today announced that it will webcast its
Investor Conference scheduled for Thursday, August 1, 2002 at 9:00 A.M.
(Eastern Time) in New York. The conference will be an opportunity to provide
investors with an update on various aspects of the company's operations.
Interested parties may listen to the conference through the company's website
at http://www.edisonschools.com.
    To access the webcast, participants should visit the Investor Relations
section of the company's website at least fifteen minutes prior to the start
of the conference to download and install any necessary audio software. A
replay of the webcast will be available through the Company's website two
hours after the call until 5:00 P.M. EST on Thursday, August 15, 2002.
