PG Energy Construction Season Reminder: Call Before You Dig

WILKES BARRE, Pa., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge
has recognized the week of May 11 through May 15 as "Pennsylvania One Call
Week." PG Energy reminds all contractors, municipalities and homeowners who
are planning construction and digging that there are many benefits of the
Pennsylvania One Call System.
The Pennsylvania One Call System reduces underground utility damage,
minimizes utility service interruptions and promotes public safety.
Call 1-800-242-1776 at least three working days before you start digging.
This notification allows owners of underground systems who are members of the
Pennsylvania One Call System to verify the existence of underground pipelines,
cables or conduits near the planned work area and mark the underground
facilities location.
Although "Pennsylvania One Call Week" is ending on May 15, the
construction season last throughout the year. Calling before you dig is a law
in the state of Pennsylvania because it saves lives. Call 1-800-242-1776 any
time, day or night, 365 days a year. The public relies on underground systems
to provide day-to-day energy and services. Please exercise caution when
digging underground and call before you dig.
