Twist of Fate for Terri Clark -- New Maple Leaf Tattoo And CCMA Fan's Choice Nomination in Same Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- In a strange twist of fate,
Terri Clark's new red maple leaf tattoo became a good luck charm last week as
she was nominated for the Canadian Country Music Association Fan's Choice
Award.
Clark was in Toronto on vacation visiting with family while taking a short
break during her extensive U.S. and Canadian tour that runs through November.
On the spur of the moment, while waiting on a friend to get a tattoo, Clark
decided to "brand herself a Canadian for life." Two days after adding the red
maple leaf on her upper right shoulder, Clark was named one of five finalists
for the CCMA Fan's Choice award along with Paul Brandt, Carolyn Dawn Johnson,
Jason McCoy, and The Wilkinsons.
"It definitely was a strange coincidence to have both of these happen
within days of each other," Clark said. "I was in Toronto and started getting
all sentimental about how much I love Canada, and how proud I am to be a
Canadian. I decided right then that I would brand myself a Canadian for life.
The tattoo artist drew it directly from the flag. I will wear it with pride."
Clark was thrilled with her Fan's Choice nomination and is excited about
hitting the road in support of her current Mercury CD, "Fearless," and her new
single, "Getting There." Clark's "Fearless 2001" tour is on the road through
November.
"For me, being nominated for the Fan's Choice Award is the greatest honor
an entertainer can receive," Clark said. "The fans are the 'boss,' and the
fact that I am nominated makes me feel like I've done my job well in the past
year. I have a wonderful fan base, and I am grateful every day for their
dedication and loyalty."
Clark's song "No Fear" was adopted by the Canadian Special Olympics as its
inspirational theme song, and the video paid special tribute to those
extraordinary athletes. In March, Clark won the Juno Award for Best Female
Country Artist.
Award-winning director Wendy Hill-Tout of Calgary's Voice Pictures has
completed filming of a documentary on Clark, entitled "Terri Clark: Real."
This special film covers Clark's life and career from her Alberta roots to her
Nashville success. The documentary will air on CMT this fall.
