RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ron Johnson,
formerly executive vice president of Quintiles Consulting, has been
appointed to lead The Lewin Group, the health and human services consulting
firm that is part of the Quintiles family of companies.
Johnson, who brings more than nine years of executive-level consulting
experience and 30 years' experience with the U.S. federal government, will
oversee all operations at The Lewin Group, a nationally recognized health
care and human services consultancy serving both the public and private
sectors in the United States and abroad.
Steven M. Niedelman, former deputy associate commissioner for
Regulatory Operations at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, replaces
Johnson as EVP at Quintiles Consulting, a leading provider of global
regulatory, compliance and validation consulting services to the
pharmaceutical, biologics and medical device industries and product
development services to the medical device industry.

Johnson served as EVP of Quintiles Consulting since 1997, assembling a
strong team of former FDA and industry experts and growing the organization

medical device consulting field. Johnson's federal government experience
includes holding senior positions at the FDA, such as Pacific Region
director and director of compliance for the Center for Devices and
Radiological Health. Among his many accomplishments at the FDA, Johnson was
recognized by former Vice President Al Gore's National Performance Review
program for his innovative industry outreach and collaboration efforts.
