True Responds to Subpoena From Rival Match.com

Online Relationship Service Defends its Employees Against Chairman and CEO of
                    Match's Parent Company InterActiveCorp

DALLAS, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, online relationship service True
(formerly TrueBegininngs) responded to subpoenas served to six of its
employees by former employer Match.com by taking out full-page advertisements
in the Wall Street Journal and Dallas Morning News. The ads feature a letter
written by Herb Vest, founder and CEO of the company, to Barry Diller,
Chairman and CEO of InterActiveCorp, the parent company of Match.com. In the
letter, Vest vows to defend his employees "in any action brought by
Match.com," and invites Mr. Diller to "compete on a field of free, open and
fair competition."
"These subpoenas are a blatant effort to intimidate these six
individuals," said Vest. "True reviewed the employees' agreements, and we
firmly believe that we have we have not broken any rules by hiring them."
The six True employees were served subpoenas in which Match.com, L.P., the
personals business of InterActiveCorp, requested permission to take their
depositions with the stated purpose "to investigate potential claims" by
Match.com that involve possible "breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty,
breach of duty of loyalty, unfair competition, misappropriation, disclosure of
trade secrets, and torturous interference with contact or prospective business
relations." As stated in the letter to Diller, True categorically denies
having received any confidential or trade secret information from these
employees that would constitute the basis of any breach of contract or tort
action by Match.com against these individuals.
"The fact of the matter is, that True doesn't want or need any so called
'secrets' that Match.com believes it has," said Vest. "True has an abundance
of ideas that we intend to realize in our quest to help people enrich their
lives through meaningful relationships. I will stand behind my employees as
it is apparent to me that Match.com is going on a fishing expedition without a
net."
