MIAMI, FL USA
MIAMI, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Burger King Corporation today announced
Melody Roadman has been appointed Executive Director of the Burger
King/McLamore Foundation (BKMF), effective immediately. Roadman will report
directly to BK/MF Co-Chairmen Steven M. Lewis and Clyde W. Rucker.

"Over the past six years, Melody has proven to be an invaluable asset to
the Foundation," said Lewis. "In the past two years alone, she has effectively
led the Foundation team to new heights. Her promotion was a natural step
toward building the Foundation and furthering its mission."
Roadman began working with the Foundation in 1998. Prior to this
appointment, Roadman served as the Foundation's Project Manager and Team
Leader. In this capacity, she oversaw the creation of the Burger King Employee
Scholars Program, the James W. McLamore Outstanding Scholars Program and the
Inaugural Jim McLamore Golf Invitational. Roadman has also coordinated such
fundraising events as the Annual Fry Fundraiser, Annual Gala held during the
annual NFA/BIM Convention and the Inaugural Jim McLamore Golf Invitational,
which altogether generated millions of dollars toward scholarships and the
Foundation endowment.
"Melody's leadership and commitment to the Foundation have helped to unite
the entire BURGER KING(R) system toward a common cause -- the education of our
youth," said Rucker. "Melody's single focus has been growing the Foundation,
and her discipline has helped to motivate the Foundation's team to produce
high energy programs in BURGER KING restaurants and schools across the
country."
"The Burger King/McLamore Foundation's mission is to provide educational
opportunities for deserving youth who best reflect the values that my late
husband James W. McLamore embodied, including education, integrity, high
standards, entrepreneurialism and good citizenship," said Nancy McLamore,
Madam Chairman Emeritus. "Melody's good work at the Foundation has furthered
these very important values."

    About the Burger King/McLamore Foundation
Incorporated in October 1997, the Burger King/McLamore Foundation (the
"Foundation") was created to grow and thrive in perpetuity. The Foundation
supports youth who emulate Jim's values of education, integrity, high
standards, entrepreneurialism and good citizenship.
The Foundation was created to unite the entire BURGER KING system in a
philanthropic effort that provides deserving youth with the educational
opportunities they need to succeed. This contributes to the development of a
skilled workforce for the future and also enhances the BURGER KING brand image
throughout North America.
The Foundation is a public non-profit foundation whose funds are derived
from many BURGER KING system members and consumers in order to create an
endowment with which to fulfill the mission "to provide educational
opportunities in the spirit of Jim McLamore to deserving youth." Unlike
private foundations, this one was not begun with assets from the gift of an
individual, family or corporation.
