professional E-Series managed desktop to date, the Gateway(R) E-6610. It is
designed for organizations that require a PC with the speed and muscle
necessary to take on the most demanding applications, or for those that
need workstation-class performance.
It is ideally suited for government agencies, educational institutions
and business customers that need state-of-the-art graphics capabilities for
professional 3D applications such as mechanical computer-aided design,
digital content creation, video editing and visualization applications.
The Gateway E-6610 boasts an array of high-performance technologies:
the latest Intel(R) 975X chipset, the powerful new Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo
processor, high-capacity SATA hard drives and RAID configurability for
enhanced speed and data protection. For customers that need workstation
performance, this powerful system can be configured with OpenGL graphics,
Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory and ultra high-speed SCSI hard drives.

Maximum Performance Through the Latest Technologies
With Intel's latest 975X chipset and a choice of Intel processors,
business customers can choose the level of performance best suited to their
needs. The most demanding users will appreciate the Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo
processor, which delivers exceptional multithreaded performance and
seamless multi-tasking for the ability to perform high-end tasks
simultaneously. It also delivers a 40 percent increase in performance along
with a 40 percent reduction in power consumption compared to the Intel(R)
Pentium(R) D processor(1).
The E-6610 features high-capacity SATA II hard drives. Supporting RAID
0, 1 or 5, this robust desktop PC allows businesses to use multiple hard
drives for increased performance or enhanced data protection.
Workstation Class Configurability
The E-6610 can be configured to handle the demanding needs of
graphically intensive applications used by engineering and scientific
research departments, higher education technical labs and architectural
firms. Configured with an NVidia Quadro FX 550 OpenGL graphics card,
software developers, architects and CAD/CAM engineers can develop and use
sophisticated 3D graphics on this system.
Gateway also offers E-6610 customers highly reliable ultra high-speed
SCSI hard drives, which can easily handle the high-bandwidth data streams
of digital video and animated visual simulations. Hard drive configurations
range from 80GB to 500GB.
Protecting the user's investment, Gateway's new power desktop can be
configured with up to 4GB of DDR2 Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory, which
includes special circuitry to test and fix the accuracy of data as it
passes in and out of memory. This provides an extra level of protection for
mission critical data and applications.
Leading Serviceability, Manageability and Security Provide Peace of
Mind
In addition to providing the latest technology, the E-6610 is based on
a BTX design that more efficiently cools internal components to deliver
exceptional reliability and longer system life(2). Cooled with two large
and quiet fans that provide improved airflow over traditional PCs, the
E-6610 will remain cool even when handling power-hungry technology. The
innovative, tool- free BTX design also makes it fast and easy to access
components without removing the front bezel or replacing optical drive
retention screws.
With the addition of Intel(R) Active Management Technology (Intel AMT),
a major barrier to greater IT efficiency and data protection has been
removed. Using built-in platform capabilities and Intel(R) LANDesk(R)
Client Manager, Intel AMT allows IT managers to remotely power systems on
and off and better discover, heal, and protect their networked computing
assets, even while PCs are powered off.
The Gateway E-6610 also supports Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, the
industry's latest hardware security standard. Integrated onto the
motherboard, this chip can't be removed and provides enhanced protection
against data theft by encrypting files, authenticating network access and
passwords, and safeguarding email communications and file transfers. Ideal
for IT-managed environments, PCs with TPM better protect critical
applications and capabilities, such as email, web access and local
protection of data.
Lastly, business customers are safe from Internet-based threats with
Symantec Norton AntiVirus, which is included free for 90-days(3). Optional
Kensington lock and cable systems protect the unit and components from
physical theft.
