WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced total sales for the four fiscal weeks ended
July 31, 1999 increased 35.3% to $56.4 million from $41.7 million for the four
week period ended August 1, 1998. Comparable sales for the 1999 period were
up 13.5% compared to the corresponding four week period last year.
Sales for the twenty-six weeks ended July 31, 1999 were $324.0 million
compared to the $225.4 million for the twenty-six week period last year, an
increase of 43.7%. Comparable store sales for the twenty-six weeks ended
July 31, 1999 increased 23.2% compared to the corresponding twenty-six week
period ended August 1, 1998.
