David Morel Brings Flavor & Style to Boca Raton's Newest Restaurant
BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Bocadoro -- A Mediterranean
Village Feast, in the throws of preparing for a mid-October opening under the
watchful eye of acclaimed restaurateur and concept developer Doug Zeif,
announced today that it has appointed David Paul-Rini Morel to the position of
Executive Chef. Known throughout Southern Europe and the Washington D.C. metro
area for his unique style of infusing diverse flavors into contemporary
Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, Morel brings more than 15 years of experience
to the newest venue for South Florida bon vivants.
An alumnus of L'Ecole Hoteliers de Talence in Bordeaux, Morel has spent
almost sixteen years honing his skills in and around the Cote D'Azur. His
enterprising credits include operating five separate venues at the Valescure,
a five-star resort hotel on the French Riviera for four years. He later
carried his expertise over to the highly successful Montecristo Cafe on the
famed Champs d'Elysees in Paris, where rejuvenated the very popular cafe and
nightclub. Morel has also held the executive position at the ultra-high volume
City Lights Seafood restaurant in Baltimore's Inner Harbor for two years.
The art of cooking is in Morel's blood. His is the son of a chef, who
started dishwashing at the age of thirteen in New Orleans, where he lived
until he was sixteen. His family then moved to France, where Morel pursued his
culinary education with the same passion he brings to his craft everyday at
Bocadoro.
"David Morel is very passionate about food and has star chef potential,"
says Zeif. "He has an approach that stays true to culinary technique, yet he
has embraced the new styles of working with food emanating from places like
Barcelona. He is incredibly creative. Bocadoro and David Morel are a perfect
match."
