Company names new chief quality and chief compliance officers
DETROIT, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) today
announced the appointments of John Galbraith to the position of chief quality
officer and Glenn Lysinger to the newly created position of chief compliance
officer. Both will report to Carsten Reinhardt, president and chief executive
officer of Detroit Diesel Corporation.
As Chief Quality Officer, John Galbraith, 44, will oversee all quality
activities for the company including Supplier Quality, Reliability and
Warranty. He joined Detroit Diesel in May 2004, as director of warranty
improvement. Prior to joining Detroit Diesel, Galbraith spent 14 years at
Cummins, Inc. During his tenure with the company, Galbraith held a variety of
positions of progressive responsibility in the areas of heavy duty engine
development and reliability.

Galbraith holds a Ph.D in engineering from Glasgow College of Technology
and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University
of Strathclyde. Additionally, he is a chartered engineer and a member of the
Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
With the newly created position of Chief Compliance Officer - NAFTA
Powertrain, Glenn W. Lysinger, 54, is responsible for the management of all
NAFTA Powertrain technical affairs with governmental and industry agencies.
This includes all activities relating to emissions compliance, safety and
government funded research. In addition to this role, Lysinger is also
appointed Program Manager for the 2010 Emission Program. He will lead Detroit
Diesel's efforts to finalize its technology and coordinate related efforts
with respect to industry support infrastructure and EPA compliance.

Prior to his current role, Lysinger held the positions of chief quality
officer from 2004 to 2005 and vice president - Customer Assurance, from 1996
to 2004. From 1988 to 1996 he served as director of Reliability and Service.
Lysinger held a variety of positions in Engineering including Reliability,
Materials Engineering, Customer Assurance, Program Management, and Project
Engineering from 1972 to 1988. He joined Detroit Diesel in 1970 as a college-
student-in-training.
Lysinger holds a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Drexel University and a master's degree in Business Administration from the
University of Michigan. He is also a Certified Professional Engineer in the
State of Michigan, a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the
Engineering Society, and the American Society for Quality.
