POWAY and IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway, Inc.
announced today that it will expand its distribution of eMachines products in
Japan by selling the brand's desktop and notebook PCs through Joshin Denki Co.
Ltd., a leading electronics retailer with more than 100 stores across the
Osaka region.

The eMachines brand has been available in Japan since late 2002 and is now
sold through stores operated by Tsukomo Co. Ltd., a PC retailer with
10 stores, and Ishimaru Denki Co. Ltd., a an electronics retailer with
19 outlets.
Wayne Inouye, Gateway's president and CEO, said, "We are delighted to team

Joshin will initially carry three eMachines desktop PCs, with notebooks to

In addition to Japan and the United States, Gateway sells the eMachines
brand in the UK and various markets within Western Europe.
