EVANSTON, Ill., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Northfield Laboratories Inc.
(Nasdaq: NFLD), a leading developer of an oxygen-carrying blood substitute for
trauma and elective surgery situations, has named David A. Savner to its board
of directors.
Savner, 54, recently named senior vice president-law of General Dynamics
Corporation, a Virginia-based manufacturer of defense products, previously
served as chief outside counsel for Northfield Laboratories for more than a
decade while at Jenner & Block in Chicago. As a senior partner at Jenner &
Block, he provided legal counsel to privately held and publicly owned
corporations, and investment and commercial banks in connection with:
mergers, acquisitions, and the divestiture of subsidiaries and divisions;
public and private sales of subsidiaries; and complex corporate
restructurings.
Savner holds Jurist Doctor and Bachelors of Arts degrees from Northwestern
University. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar
Association and the Chicago Council of Lawyers.
