The Gateway Flex Case Featuring a New Sleek, Compact Convertible Case
Offers Customers a Fresh Look and Features for $999
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway (NYSE: GTW) today introduced a
new look for the Gateway Essential line of desktop PCs, featuring a sleek
compact design. The Gateway Essential line in the new Gateway Flex Case
features two USB plug-ins in the front of the case for simple plug-n-play
access for applications such as Photo:) Ware, Music:) Ware, and gaming
controls. The three USB connections in back of the case ensure easy access
for stationary peripherals such as the printer, scanner, and other USB
devices. The system also features the Intel 810e chipset with integrated
graphics, audio and modem, all the basic tools for a complete yet affordable
multimedia system.
In its most significant design change since 1997, Gateway's latest system
will deliver customers the ability to personalize their workspace converting
the Gateway Flex Case from an upright position to a flat desktop position
depending on their desktop workspace constraints.

The Gateway Essential line of desktop PCs is designed to meet the
individual needs of the client looking for a full-featured multimedia system
with traditional Gateway value, while maximizing those features that are the
most important to the client's needs: processor speed, RAM amount, and hard
drive size. The new models feature either an Intel 566Mhz Celeron Processor
or an Intel PIII 667 processor with the Intel 810e chipset. The systems come
standard with the CD-ROM drives and 7.5 or 15GB Ultra ATA hard drives.
Prices begin at $999 with an EV500 15" monitor (13.9 viewable screen).
The Gateway Essential 566 will be available immediately with the Gateway
Essential 667 system available on August 14.
