HOUSTON, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert J. Allison, Jr., Chairman and CEO
of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC), today announced that the Board
of Directors voted to promote two Company executives to positions of executive
vice president, effective Aug. 1.
Charles G. Manley was promoted to Executive Vice President,
Administration. His responsibilities include the areas of Human Resources,
Information Technology Systems, Purchasing and Transportation, Administration,
Government Relations and Public Affairs, and Safety and Environmental Affairs.
Michael E. Rose was promoted to Executive Vice President, Finance. His
responsibilities include the areas of Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Internal
Audit, Marketing Planning and Investor Relations. He will continue in his
role as Chief Financial Officer.
"These promotions reflect their increased level of responsibility under
the Company's new organizational structure," Allison said.
Manley began his career with Anadarko in 1974 as Personnel and
Administration Manager for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company (now Duke
Energy), which previously owned Anadarko. In 1976 he was appointed Director
of Employee Relations for Anadarko Production Company, and in 1977 was
promoted to Vice President of Administration & Employee Relations. He was
named Sr. Vice President, Administration in 1993.
Rose joined Anadarko in 1978 as Chief Accountant. He was named Vice
President and Controller in 1981; Vice President, Finance and Controller in
1986; Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in 1987; and Sr.
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in 1993.
