HOUSTON, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert J. Allison, Jr., Chairman and CEO
of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC), today announced that the Board
of Directors voted to name James J. Emme as Vice President, Canada, effective
Aug. 1.
Emme will be based in Calgary and will be responsible for exploration and
development operations throughout the Company's holdings in the western
provinces of Canada and in the Beaufort Sea/MacKenzie Delta region.
"Jim has played a significant role in Anadarko's success by his
involvement and leadership throughout the Company's core areas - most notably
in Algeria, Alaska and the Bossier natural gas play in East Texas," said
Allison. "His talents and the breadth of his experience make him particularly
well-suited for carrying out the Company's strategies in Canada."
Emme will report to George Lindahl III, Anadarko Vice Chairman, whose
areas of responsibility include Canada.
Since joining Anadarko in 1981, Emme has served in a wide range of staff
and managerial positions at increasing levels of responsibility. He has held
key positions within the Exploration Group, including Manager, Basin Studies
Group, Exploration Manager - U. S. Onshore & Alaska, and Geological Supervisor
- U. S. Onshore. In addition, he has served as Manager, Offshore Gulf of
Mexico & Alaska Exploitation and as Manager, Domestic Exploitation.
Emme holds a Master's Degree in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines
and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from the University of California at
Davis.
