 APC to Host Educational Events Nationwide; Events to Address the Latest in
                  Data Center Design, Build and Operations

    WEST KINGSTON, R.I., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Power
Conversion (Nasdaq: APCC) (APC), a leading global provider of high
availability systems for network-critical physical infrastructure (NCPI),
today announced details of its upcoming Data Center Test Drive Days, an
event intended to educate professionals on the latest developments in data
center design, build and operations. Throughout the week of September 18,
2006, IT and facilities professionals in the U.S. and Canada can attend
free educational events at tradeshows, hotels, movie theatres, Microsoft
Demo Centers and at various APC customer sites around the country. Each
event will showcase technologies and best practices used to maximize the
efficiency and capabilities of the modern data center.

    During the week of September 18th, attendees will learn about the
latest in data center technology and methodology, as well as see how APC's
InfraStruXure(R) architecture drives high-performance data centers. Using
an open, building-block approach and standardized, modular components,
InfraStruXure fully integrates power, cooling, and environmental management
within a rack-optimized design. APC InfraStruXure customer and top Formula
1 racing team BMW Sauber F1 is serving as the promotional supplier for Data
Center Test Drive Days. All attendees will receive either a BMW Sauber F1
cap or tee shirt for attending an event while quantities last.

    APC's Data Center Test Drive Days events will take place in more than
100 cities across the U.S. and Canada, including New York, Boston, Houston,
Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Toronto, Ontario. APC has organized the week
long education blitz to accommodate even the busiest of schedules. Events
will take place morning, noon, at night and online. Those who attend an APC

    * Local Movie Theatres: APC will host various movies at cinemas across the

      in New York and HP Technology Forum in Houston and will host continuous
      presentations on the latest in data center technology.

    * Hotels: APC will host a series of events at hotels in the U.S. and

    * APC Customer Sites: APC customers will open their data center doors for
      attendees to walk through and experience how APC's InfraStruXure

      are unable to attend an event in their area can still take part in APC's
      Test Drive Days events by attending a Data Center University course or
      webcast presented by APC.
