Raytheon Wins $250 Million U.S. Air Force Base Operations Support Contract

    VIENNA, Va., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTNA, RTNB)
has been selected to provide base operations support for the U.S. Air Force at
Johnston Atoll. The contract is valued at $250 million and includes a six-
month base period followed by six one-year options and a seventh six-month
option.
    Under this contract, Raytheon will provide base operations support
services, including administration; information management; medical services;
systems operations and maintenance; facilities engineering and maintenance;
transportation; utilities services; environmental, safety and health services;
housing; food services; morale, welfare and recreation services; security and
fire services; airfield operations; and disaster preparedness.
    Raytheon currently supports base operations for several government
agencies, including the U.S. Navy's Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation
Center on Andros Island in the Bahamas; the U.S. Army's missile range
operations on the island of Kwajalein; and most recently, U.S. Naval
Facilities, Guam.

    Originally part of the U.S. nuclear testing program, Johnston Atoll,
located about 700 nautical miles southwest of Honolulu, supports chemical
demilitarization activities for the U.S. Army. Work under the base operations
support program is scheduled to begin next month.
