Playboy.com Features WNBA's Hottest Players

First Annual Poll Asks Fans to Vote for League's Sexiest Star

NEW YORK, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Playboy.com unveiled its first
annual Ten Hottest Women in the WNBA feature. The players featured, as chosen
by the Playboy.com editorial staff, will be ranked by fans who log-on to
http://www.playboy.com/sports/features/wnba/index.html to register their votes
for the league's sexiest sharp shooter on the site's exclusive poll. The
final vote count will be tallied and the winner crowned soon after the WNBA
championship late this month.
Houston's Sheryl Swoopes, one of the players to make the top ten list, was
surprised to be chosen. "I was totally shocked but I'm very grateful," she
said. "The Playboy.com Top Ten is something the fans should know about."
Playboy.com's Top Ten are (in alphabetical order):

    Jennifer Azzi, Utah Starzz
    Milena "Mi" Flores, Miami Sol
    Michelle Griffiths, Phoenix Mercury
    Lisa Harrison, Phoenix Mercury
    Lisa Leslie, Los Angeles Sparks
    Michelle Marciniak, Portland Fire
    Nikki McCray, Washington Mystics
Carolyn Peck, general manager and head coach, Orlando Miracle
    Maria Stepanova, Phoenix Mercury
    Sheryl Swoopes, Houston Comets

Phoenix Mercury head coach Cheryl Miller, who had three of her players
named to the list, was asked what she thought of the first annual homage to
the league. "I'm a huge fan of just filling the seats, and if it takes the
Anna Kournikovas of the world to fill them, then that's what you have to do.
I don't want to focus on (looks) being the main draw because there's a lot of
talented players in the WNBA, but hey, whatever fills the seats."
Fans can register their votes at Playboy.com through August 25.
