Working with IBM Delivers More Hardware and Operating System Choices for
Telecommunications Service Providers
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leading global customer
care and billing solutions provider CSG Systems (Nasdaq: CSGS) today announced
that it has completed the port of the entire suite of its Kenan(R) FX
framework to AIX, IBM's UNIX(R) platform.

The AIX platform is designed to support e-business and internet
applications with enhanced security, workload management, system management
and Java(TM) software scalability.
CSG chose to port its Kenan FX solutions to AIX to give global
telecommunications service providers more hardware and operating system
choices for running CSG solutions in both outsourced and licensed formats.
IBM eServer pSeries provides the capacity; scalability and reliability that
companies need to drive large successful e-business billing systems with CSG
Kenan FX software suite at a lower cost.
Solutions now compatible with AIX include CSG's billing platform Kenan/BP,
CSG(R) Data Mediation, CSG Kenan Prepaid, CSG's customer self-care product,
Total Care and additional modules designed to support ordering, thresholding,
roaming and rating, among others.
In addition, the Kenan FX products and modules have been ported to a
64-bit architecture which helps to enhance overall performance and product
throughput, increasing the number of subscribers that can be supported by
CSG's systems using less hardware than previous versions.
"We are pleased that CSG has chosen the IBM eServer pSeries to provide an
on demand platform for Kenan FX users," said Scott Firth, program director of
Telecommunications Industry, IBM Systems and Technology Group. "Combined with
CSG's latest billing suite, the pSeries high levels of performance together
with its advanced virtualization features provide telecommunications service
providers with a solution that supports their needs as they introduce
increasing volumes of new services."
"As telecom service providers are offering more combinations of broadband,
mobile and fixed-line services, the number of subscribers, devices and types
of content they support will grow exponentially, driving the need for
back-office systems that can scale without additional cost," said Darla
Thompson, vice president of product management for CSG Systems' Global
Software and Services Division. "In addition to enhancing our solution to
support higher throughput with less hardware, our long-standing partnership
with IBM enables us to deliver more cost-effective choice for hardware and
operating systems that support our products."
