WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Fidelity Bankshares, Inc.
(Nasdaq: FFFL), the holding company for Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust,
announced today that Paul Bremer has joined the company's boards of directors.
Bremer recently retired from Ernst & Young, where he served as audit partner
and managing partner for the West Palm Beach office.
In making the announcement Vince Elhilow, CEO of Fidelity Bankshares and
Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust, said, "Paul Bremer has been a highly successful
and leading businessman in our community. He has 35 years of professional
accounting experience and has been the very capable head of various business
and civic organizations. I am delighted to have a person of his caliber join

Bremer is a graduate of Stetson University, and a certified public
accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Florida
Institute of CPAs. He is an active part of the community as a past member and
director of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, member and past
president of the Kiwanis Club of West Palm Beach, and member and past
president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches.
In addition to serving on the board of Fidelity Bankshares, Bremer also
will serve as a board member of the company's subsidiary, Fidelity Federal
Bank & Trust, and of Fidelity Bankshares, MHC, the mutual holding company that
owns a majority position in Fidelity Bankshares, Inc.
