NewTek's LightWave 3D to Play Prominent Role in 'Studio' at SIGGRAPH 2001

  LightWave 3D on Every Windows and Mac in SIGGRAPH's Interactive Classroom

    SIGGRAPH 2001, LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- NewTek, manufacturer
of industry-leading 3D animation and video production products, announced
today that LightWave 3D, their premier 3D software product, will be featured
on every Windows and Macintosh computer in the Studio, an interactive
classroom at the SIGGRAPH 2001.  Attendees at the show in Los Angeles from
August 12-17 will be able to experience the power and speed of LightWave 3D,
the industry's best selling 3D software.  In addition, NewTek has donated
2 complete copies of LightWave [6.5] to be given out as prizes for SIGGRAPH
student volunteers.

    In the Studio at SIGGRAPH 2001, attendees of all skill levels are invited
to sign up to use the latest off-the-shelf, commercial animation software to
develop, create, or refine 2D and 3D ideas, concepts, and data into living,
breathing animation.  The general interface, workflow, and creation tools are
covered in hands-on sessions in The Studio and in interactive tutorial
presentations in The Studio Tutorial Theater throughout the week.
    Attendees can interact with the experienced Studio staff to create
animation of any style, using any available techniques to achieve them.  The
Studio staff will assist with an introduction to the concepts of modeling,
texturing, lighting, and application of the basic principles of animation.
Seasoned animators, technical directors, and other computer graphics
professionals are also invited to participate in this unique, collaborative
environment.
    NewTek's LightWave 3D will be featured prominently in the SIGGRAPH 2001
Studio running on every Windows and Macintosh machine, 110 seats in total.
