JACKSON, Miss., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Parkway Properties,
Inc. (NYSE: PKY) announced today leasing activity for the month ended July
31, 2006.

As of August 1, 2006, occupancy of the office portfolio was 90.4%, up
from 90.0% as of July 1, 2006. Since June 30, 2006, 21 leases were renewed
or expanded for approximately 68,000 square feet. Additionally, nine new
leases were signed totaling 30,000 square feet. Not included in occupancy
are 26 leases totaling 144,000 square feet, which have been fully executed
as of August 10, 2006. These leases bring the portfolio to 91.5% leased as
of August 10, 2006 as compared to 91.4% as of July 10, 2006.
