acquisition of two centers in South Florida totaling around 148,000 square
feet. The Company purchased Coral Shores in Cape Coral and Lakeside Town
Shops in Davie, increasing its portfolio to 11 centers in this market.
Coral Shores, a 69,000 square-foot, Publix-anchored center, is situated
at the intersection of Pine Island Road and Burnt Store Road and is
exceptionally well located in one of the fastest growing areas in the
state. High traffic counts and an expanding workforce here can be
attributed to strong population growth, which is projected to increase
eight percent per year for the next five years.
The 79,000 square-foot Lakeside Town Shops is a new development in
Davie, a growing suburb of central Broward County. SuperTarget
shadow-anchors the center, and 16 other retailers, including OfficeMax, are
featured here. Situated at the corner of University Drive and Stirling
Road, Lakeside Town Shops is at the heart of a growing residential market.
Monterra, a residential development on a tract across from the center, will
bring approximately 2,000 new homes to the area over the next several
years.
