BILLERICA, Mass., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Peritus Software Services, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: PTUS), a provider of solutions for software maintenance,
today announced its financial results for the three months ended June 30,
1999. Total revenue decreased 71.9% to $3,113,000 from $11,083,000 in the
three months ended June 30, 1998. The net loss decreased 71.3% to
$528,000 ($0.03 per share) from the net loss of $1,839,000 ($0.11 per share)
in the three months ended June 30, 1998. Excluding charges and adjustments
related to restructuring and impairment of long-lived assets, the net loss for
the second quarter of 1999 decreased 82.5% to $70,000 from a net loss of
$400,000 in last year's second quarter. Detailed results and commentary
including a full explanation of the Company's restructuring and asset
