Lexmark's first entry into the low-end laser MFP market prints, scans,
faxes and copies and is also ideal for enterprises that have satellite or
branch offices but cannot compromise on output quality, speed or versatility.
The compact-sized Lexmark X215 affordably combines the attributes of four
separate products while providing high-speed, laser printer quality.
"This segment of the market is growing as businesses of all sizes demand a
high-value device that consolidates many functions into a single product.
Lexmark recognizes this opportunity and is there to meet customers'
expectations with products such as the Lexmark X215," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark
executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services
Division. "We're focused on delivering to small- and medium-sized businesses
the caliber of solutions usually associated with our Fortune 1000 customers."
The Lexmark X215's attributes include:
* Fast printing: Provides high-quality laser printing at up to 17 pages
per minute and a 250-page integrated paper tray.
* Versatile copying: The Lexmark X215 comes standard with both a 30-sheet
automatic document feeder and flatbed color scanner for greater copying
versatility, and features reduction and enlargement capabilities between
25 percent and 400 percent.
* High-speed faxing: Features a 33.6 kilobytes per second modem, and
includes such capabilities as group faxing, broadcast faxing, an
integrated phone book and delayed transmissions.
* Easy scanning: Accommodates scanning of both color and monochrome
documents. Accompanying software package simplifies the transformation
and management of scanned images and documents.
The introduction of the Lexmark X215 is part of the company's growing line
of business-quality MFP products from the recently introduced inkjet-based
X6150/X6170 to the higher speed/higher function X-series monochrome and color
laser MFPs.
"We believe there is great growth potential for Lexmark in the MFP market
for small- and medium-businesses," Rooke said. "We intend to aggressively
grow our presence in these markets by leveraging our expertise in anticipating
customers' needs and delivering high-value products and solutions such as the
Lexmark X215."
Lexmark also announced today the Lexmark N4000e, a low-cost print server
that networks USB printers. "The Lexmark N4000e is an excellent example of
our push to meet the growing demand for affordable network printing in
businesses of all sizes," Rooke said.
The Lexmark N4000e expands the company's print server product line to make
network printing more affordable and easier to use specifically in small- and
medium-size businesses. The Lexmark N4000e incorporates the Apple-certified
Rendezvous technology for simplified set-up in Apple network environments. It
is priced at $129.
