Computer Troubleshooters Launches 100th U.S. Franchisee

         Six-year-old Company Has More than 200 Franchisees Worldwide

    Decatur, Ga., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Troubleshooters USA Inc.,
an onsite computer service franchise that caters to small businesses,
continues to expand as it recently established its 100th U.S. franchisee. The
four-year-old company provides a full range of computer services, including
repair, networking and upgrading, at the customer's location.
    The company has more than 200 franchisees worldwide. In January 2002
Entrepreneur magazine ranked Computer Troubleshooters USA the #1 Tech Support
franchise.
    Computer Troubleshooters USA specializes in providing services to small
businesses -- companies with no more than 50 computer systems.
    The most recent franchisees launched operations in Pennsylvania,
Connecticut, West Virginia, Colorado, New York and New Jersey. The company's
Canadian presence is also growing strong. Three new locations have been
established near Vancouver and operations are under way in Montreal.

    Australian husband and wife Wilson and Suzanne McOrist, who had previously
owned a 200-franchise business selling bookkeeping software, founded Computer
Troubleshooters in Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales north coast in 1997.
The company has grown to more than 200 franchises in almost a dozen countries.

    They got the idea when they had trouble finding IT help of their own.
    "We tried to get some IT work done for us in Coffs Harbour, where we
lived, and we found it hard to get someone because all the technicians were
too busy," McOrist said. "We'd just sold this other business and we thought,
well, there's a similarity between what we were doing for computerized
bookkeeping and computer troubleshooting."
    Those who take up a Computer Troubleshooters franchise are allocated a
region and serve clients at the client's location.
    Many previously worked in IT support. All go through an initial training
course and undertake ongoing online training, along with a regional training
session every two months to keep up with the latest technology.
