Mediadome, Inc. and FanPC, Inc. Team Up to Create the Ultimate PC-Based Sports Fan Experience

Mediadome to Provide Super Browser for NFL Licensed PC

LOS ANGELES and SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Mediadome(R)
Inc., an interface service provider formed through investments by two of the
world's leading technology companies, Intel Corp. and Superscape, PLC, is
today announcing that it has been chosen to create the first NFL team branded
Super Browser for FanPC Inc.'s new line of customized SportsFanPC personal
computers. The announcement was made from the 2001 Siggraph Exhibition at the
Los Angeles Convention Center (booth #2324).
"We are thrilled to be working with FanPC on such an exciting new
product," said Jay Diamond, mediadome president and CEO. "Together we can not
only create a superior end-user experience but the branding opportunities for
the NFL and other Sports leagues are endless."
The only NFL licensed personal computer, the SportsFanPC features a custom
painted chassis with team colors and logo. An interchangeable monitor frame
displays team stats, photos and schedules (a new one is sent to the customer
every couple of months.) In addition, the FanPC packaging contains team
memorabilia including a media guide, roster, cup holder, mouse pad, and unique
items from team memorabilia archives.
When launched from the SportsFanPC desktop, the mediadome-enhanced Super
Browser will launch an online "football stadium" that is branded by the team.
Contextually-placed WebScreens throughout this "stadium" and all are available
from a single viewpoint with the full functionality of a standard Web browser,
allowing for numerous promotional and sponsorship opportunities.
"I've worked in the PC business for more than 20 years and I've never seen
anything like the mediadome Super Browser," said Rob Howe, FanPC Chairman and
CEO. "It allows us to take the FanPC vision to the next level, extending the
team's branding possibilities beyond the hardware we create and onto the
Internet where mediadome's visual bookmarking technologies will help us to tap
into additional revenue streams online."
Mediadome expects to stimulate revenue opportunities for FanPC and the NFL
by creating high-value real estate for advertisers and partners. In a
previous mediadome trial spanning six-months, a six percent click-through rate
on contextually placed advertising was experienced -- a massive increase over
conventional Internet advertising results.
Not available in retail stores, the first NFL-branded SportsFanPC will be
sold online and by phone beginning in mid-September 2001.
