US Airways Operations in New York Remain Affected by Blackout

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways is continuing
to cancel flights and still is experiencing delays for travel into and out of
New York LaGuardia as a result of the power outage.
At the end of the day, the airline will have cancelled about 100 flights
as a result of the blackout.
US Airways has suspended most departures and arrivals at New York
LaGuardia until tomorrow, Aug. 16. The airline has operated three mainline
departures from LaGuardia today and has scheduled four others for the evening,
to transport customers already at the airport. Later this evening, aircraft
are scheduled to arrive in LaGuardia to position for full operations tomorrow.
Partial power has been restored at Detroit, and scheduled flights for the
remainder of the day will operate. Some delays are possible.
US Airways has relaxed its travel policies for passengers whose travel has
been affected by the outage. Passengers scheduled to travel today or tomorrow
to or from Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Canada will
be able to make certain changes to their itineraries and US Airways will waive
standard change fees, minimum and maximum stay requirements and advance
ticketing requirements. Allowed changes include:

-- Reschedule travel to start early or originate up to seven days later
          than scheduled departure
-- Destination city can be changed

Further information on airport status is available on the US Airways Web
site at usairways.com/travel/airport/index.htm. Customers also can check
flight status and departure schedules from US Airways' homepage.
